THE SHOW APARTMENT

Approached by the developer, luxury interior design studio Accouter was appointed to furnish a show apartment that would not only mirror the prestige of the iconic new building but appeal to a wide demographic of buyers, all of whom appreciated and lived an exceptional and inspired lifestyle.

When furnishing the show apartment, the designers took inspiration from the future buyers. The potential owners would have travelled the world and stayed in the most lavish of locations; therefore, the essence of high-end living needed to be present. With this being the prominent notion that drove the initial design, the apartment needed to feel like an extension of the esteemed architecture whilst also feeling like a home.

The second avenue of inspiration was the nature with which the apartment was embraced. Surrounded at this great height solely by the gentle air with the shimmering turquoise Arabian waters below, the designers knew the interiors had to celebrate the very essence of the ocean.

THE DESIGN

The single-level lateral apartment has been carefully crafted by its surroundings. Exploring every element of water and the life below, the Design team drew on the hues, patterns, texture, and silhouettes to refine the show apartment to have subtle references that honoured the apartment's location whilst remaining timeless and everlasting.

Within the show apartment, soft and sensual Arte wallpaper embraces the walls within the open-plan space, imitating the grandeur of the building with the softness of the sea below. This bold yet elegant scheme continues through to the opulent principal bedroom, with a bespoke panelled shell headboard, timeless furniture, and neutral fabrics that create the perfect balance between drama and serenity.

"We wanted to design a show apartment that was light, bold and inviting, but also had timeless elegance about it. We looked at light and reflections, how the sun plays on the water and all the beautiful patterns and shapes you would see underwater to create luxury oceanfront living at its finest.

"I loved working with Accouter on this luxurious project as we have been happy collaborators for many years. For Atlantis, we created a trio of imaginary underwater flower artworks in hand-cut suede, which were delicately finished with tiny mother of pearl beads. The second commission was a mix of hand beadwork and laser etching. The tiny pearls and bronze beads were laid like grains of sand while the laser etching created a gentle, ghost-like pattern of waves. Textile art is an excellent way to add texture to luxury interiors and sits beautifully alongside paintings and sculptures."
