PROPERTY TRENDS 2021

At the beginning of the year, the award-winning interior designers forecasted that the main focus in interiors would be on bringing the outside into our living spaces. Predicting that this trend is here to stay, the connectivity to the natural environment through nature has proven to lift moods and boost mindfulness.

Within The Tower, the essence of water sets the tone throughout, seamlessly complementing the panoramic views of the Thames. Working closely with luxury rug designers, Riviere Rugs, a bespoke handcrafted blue-hued rug, takes centre stage, mimicking the flow of the river-the statement piece seamlessly connects the exterior, bringing the outdoors in.

Another emerging trend since the pandemic hit is personal wellbeing and mindfulness. Surrounded at this great height solely by air and space, with the flowing River Thames underneath, all stresses fade away, and you enter a new realm of calm when occupying the balcony. Accouter designed a space with flexible zones adding to the homeowner’s imagined lifestyle should they wish to sit back and relax or perhaps a yoga session on the balcony surround by the tranquil view.

AN ARTISAN’S TOUCH

Accouter's bespoke joinery serving as a jewel piece within the open-plan space living room reveals a hidden bar, one of which the homeowner would be proud to flaunt. Adorned with decadent gold Gingko leaves, created by artist Diane Hill, each leaf was hand-painted in 24-carat gold leaf, creating the notion of a soothing autumn scene.

Emulating the peaceful connotations of blue and the functionality of the space, the master bedroom showcases pure powder blue bedside cabinets with the soft ivories of the surrounding fabrics. Exclusively crafted for Accouter by British artisans Decorus, the hotel-style master is the perfect setting for a relaxed evening watching the world go by with floor to ceiling windows.

LIVING SPACE LONDON CATEGORY

Hosted by leading UK interior design magazine at the design et al awards, they aim to commend design, recognise talent, create opportunities and quite simply to offer inspiration.

Entering into the 'Living Space – London' category, based in the heart of Chelsea & Kensington, Chelsea Waterfront plays host to one of its most iconic buildings in London, The Tower. The developers approached Accouter with the brief of creating a space that would appeal to a wide demographic, all of whom appreciated and lived a luxury lifestyle. The potential owners would travel internationally. The apartment may be used as a home away from home; therefore, the essence of a high-end hotel needed to be present throughout the lateral apartment. Accouter were tasked to work with the unique floor plan in order to show how the spaces can be utilised.

Voting will close on Wednesday 7th July 2021 with winning entry in each category announced later this year. For more information about the awards, visit the design et al website.
