SUPPORT KEY WORKERS

Claridge’s recently announced they would be opening their doors to forty NHS key workers who are unable to go home from Friday 3rd April. Not only will they be given breakfast and dinner, they will be staying in a £600 a night suite for free. This is a monumental offer to the staff at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington.

The support to the NHS, elderly and those vulnerable does not stop there. Michelin-starred chef, Larry Jayasekara, is set to be leading one of the vastest catering initiatives. Twenty chefs from leading restaurants have taken over the kitchens at Le Pont de la Tour to prepare over 1,000 lunches a day for staff at University College Hospital. Similarly, several restaurants and catering businesses have published how they are doing their part to help. Bearnes Restaurant, offering fine Indian cuisine have announced that for every takeaway order received, they will donate a meal to NHS workers in the local area.

For Accouter’s recent Chelsea Waterfront showcase, our divine display of canapes was supplied by The Plattery. With great honour we share the declaration of owner and chef, Ayesha Pakravan Ovey.

“During this time, I have stopped all events catering and am instead providing free food to anyone who can’t feed themselves in London amid the Covid-19 outbreak. The scheme is currently being funded by 10% of The Plattery’s February profit & directly from my own pocket however, demand for the service is increasing as many people across the city need feeding and I need your help!”

UNITE YOUR COMMUNITY

Unfortunately, there are still several people at risk, perhaps those near to you. Put a note through an elderly neighbour’s door who may need support with shopping or collecting necessities. Even without face to face contact, acts of compassion like this can help unite your community.

Accouter have been volunteering through the NextDoor app. The app provides message boards for people in the same neighbourhood, allowing you to communicate with others and reach out to those in need.

Whilst we must prioritise the safety of key workers and ourselves, Accouter will continue to strive to support local amenities and charities. Keep up to date with how Accouter are doing their part by following our Instagram. For now, the Accouter studio remains closed, however we are available to answer any queries.
