THE ACCOUTER COLLECTION X DECCA LAUNCH AT FOCUS/19

REDESIGNING THE STANDARD.

Furniture designers, Decca London recently held a competition inviting clients to design a dining room collection, with the brief of redesigning custom versions of their standard products. Those entering the competition were given complete creative freedom to customise the products, changing finishes and dimensions, along with adding bespoke details to further the overall aesthetic and feel. Afterwards, the public was invited to vote for their favourite rendered room during London Design Week. In March 2018, it was announced Accouter’s collection concept had won the competition and in July 2019, the company began fine-tuning the designs for manufacturing ahead of Focus/19, Chelsea Harbours most highly-anticipated annual design events.

THE ACCOUTER COLLECTION
X DECCA LAUNCH AT FOCUS/19

As part of FOCUS/19, Accouter unveiled to the public the winning designs, with an event at Decca London’s showroom in Chelsea Harbours widely recognised Design Centre. Along with the unveiling of the collection, the event featured a panel discussion on the topic of ‘The Ever-Evolving Link Between Fashion & Architecture’, an insightful discussion between Esra Kumbasar, Associate Designer at Accouter and James Jago, Australian Associate Architect from Lees Associates.

Led by James Fiddy of Decca London, the discussion unfolded with a flash of references to the influences of certain design movements such as Art Deco and how their characteristics can be seen throughout the Accouter Collection. As well as noting architectural elements, Esra accentuated the influence of fashion designers such as Alexander McQueen of recent projects, such as their current design for the Royal Atlantis Residences.

The launch was a great success with agent, clients, press and interior bloggers in attendance. The evening opened with a reception of champagne and canapés along with an introduction into the collection and the inspirations behind the designs. Guests were also gifted the latest annual book of the brand, AccouterFOUR and some were lucky enough to take a bespoke cushion away with them.

To see more of the event, you can view a video of the launch event from Property Tent here.

Accouter are also delighted to announce the Accouter Collection’s dining table has been selected as one of Focus/19’s top furniture pieces. The Accouter Collection itself is currently on display in Decca London’s showroom in the Design Centre and will soon bring the dining room of a future luxury Accouter project to life.
