FASHION, ARTISANS & ARCHITECTURE:
CO-FOUNDER & GROUP DIRECTOR, STELLA GITTINS
Accouter’s ongoing ‘Meet the Studio’ series explores the team behind the award-winning interior design schemes and their inspiration when creating interior architecture. Collaborating with the like-minded team at Accouter Group of Companies has led to the studio exceeding every expectation set. There's always so much excitement when discovering what's next. The studio often finds inspiration within the luxury market, from both established and iconic brands to the new, innovative, and rule-breakers. Co-Founder and Group Director Stella Gittins reveals her favourite British artisan, fashion house and her travel wish list post-travel restrictions.
FAVOURITE BRITISH ARTISAN
Known as the modern-day family jeweller, Sophie Breitmeyer sets out to create objects that mean something to others. Sophie's grandfather was one of the Founding Members of De Beers, with Sophie on her graduation winning the Bright Young Gem Award and was named as a ''new talent to watch'' by Vogue Italia.
"I love this British female family jeweller. Her pieces have a modern twist and retain a unique style. Much like our schemes, I admire how each piece is as individual as its owner, with a story behind it."

FAVOURITE FASHION HOUSE
For the Accouter interior designers, fashion has a significant influence when it comes to experimenting with colour and material combinations. However, with sustainability becoming such an essential aspect to any company ethos, Stella McCartney is leading the way in their journey to becoming a fully sustainable fashion house.
"I love her signature style of sharp tailoring, natural confidence and femininity. I also love the fashion house's commitment to sustainability and how the brand's ethos is to be ethically responsible and honest. As proud Walpole members, we actively take learnings from our peers which are Britain's most remarkable luxury brands to influence the world of interiors, especially within a sustainable practice."
FAVOURITE INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT
Finding inspiration in the most unlikely places, many of us have turned to social media during the pandemic for daily inspiration and inspiring new skills. An artist that has been around since 2016 and exceeding a million followers on Instagram is James Lewis. Exhibiting art and taught lettering workshops worldwide, James has worked with some of the most well-known brands on various creative projects, from video content creation and public speaking to live mural paintings.
"Whacky and mesmerising, I love clicking into his Instagram to watch the artist at work. I am often inspired by his bold, graphic artwork for some of the biggest brands on the planet and teaching others the creative process."

FAVOURITE LOCATION
Location and travel plays a considerable part in the studio's creativeness especially within the unique architecture often found internationally. Due to travel restrictions, the designers have looked a little closer to home when designing for an exclusive array of international private clients. In Accouter’s highly anticipated show apartment project at The Royal Atlantis Residences, the designers took inspiration from the unique architecture of the building whilst combining the essence of the ocean when designing the show apartment. With that said, that hasn't stopped the team from planning their next luxury escape for a well-needed rest and recuperation.
"From the ultramodern beachfront apartments at Waldorf Astoria to the stunning Baglioni Resort, the Maldives is definitely at the top of my travel bucket list. I spent a lot of time during lockdown perusing images of white beaches and blue seas. Closer to home though, I love nothing more than exploring Chiltern Hills with my family. Exploring what nature has to offer is a simple yet satisfying pastime of mine."
