FASHION, ARTISANS & ARCHITECTURE:
DIRECTOR, LOTTIE SIMONSON

Introducing Director, Lottie Simonson to the hand-picked Accouter award-winning interior design studio. Whilst maintaining a passion for all things property and interiors, taking a key part in Accouter’s sustainable journey, Lottie is dedicated to providing personalised assistance, achieving the visions of the studio’s exclusive clients whilst overseeing project management. Lottie reveals her current favourite publication when searching for inspiration and where is next on her travels with a sustainable nod.

FAVOURITE BRITISH ARTISAN

Accouter creates opulent interiors for the most discerning clients in the world's most exclusive residences. The studio has unrivalled access to hand-sourced creative design talent and supply chains with only the highest standard of craftsmanship and artisans.

"Since having had the pleasure of working with Fromental on a couple of projects, I have been drawn to their distinctively British, exquisitely hand-embroidered bespoke silk wallpapers. For those who have been lucky enough to see Fromental's work in person, you will understand me when I say that each design is nothing other than a magnificent piece of artwork. Therefore, you have no choice other than to admire the skill and craftsmanship involved with creating each unique piece, with artists spending up to 600 hours elegantly painting and hand stitching individual panels."

FAVOURITE BRITISH FASHION HOUSE

Inspiration can come in the most unlikely of places. In association with Accouter Group of Companies, Accouter directs their efforts to develop their awareness and knowledge of sustainability within luxury design and goods. Understanding the increasingly important role in protecting the planet has encouraged us to focus our efforts on introducing more sustainable measures in any way we can.

"Having shared the same birthplace as the Temperley brand, in Somerset, I strongly resonate with Alice's romantic, whimsical, and timeless designs – no other fashion house embodies such magic, creativity and freedom as Temperley London. It is British Bohemian at its very best.

Not only is the brand leading the way in finding solutions to environmental and social challenges facing the fashion industry, having been awarded the Butterfly Mark by Positive Luxury in 2018, but upon its 20th year of being, Temperley London designs are allowing women across the world to feel more empowered and uninhibited than ever before."

FAVOURITE PLACE TO FIND INSPIRATION

Much like the team of interior designers, Lottie is often found flicking through the latest Wallpaper publications.

"Wallpaper's publication is my go-to destination whether I'm looking for a sense of wanderlust, fresh fashion trends, or new interior ideas. Each month's issue focuses on a different theme. Since its first copy published in 1996, Wallpaper has set the design agenda by pushing into new creative territories across the world of contemporary living. Since becoming a regular reader, the publication has never failed to consistently teach me about the diverse nature of design in all forms and the never-ending expanse of what is and could be possible."

FAVOURITE LOCATION

Accouter is fortunate to work with an ever-growing list of international private clients and developers. Understanding their location, culture and surrounding areas is essential for the designers.

"Although nearly an impossible decision to make, I'm going to go with Mexico for its developing creativity in design and, of course, the vibrant culture and food. Throughout the country, each region is experiencing a new generation of designers who are taking old cultural traditions and fusing heritage with modern design. This is particularly evident on the coast, with the pairing of centuries-old craftsmanship with eco-architecture and sustainable design to build the most imaginative and sophisticated structures.  Next up on the Bucket List is Namibia, to explore the vistas of endless red sand dunes and otherworldly landscapes it has to offer."

In collaboration with The Luxury Property Forum, Lottie recently joined a panellist of experts to provide insights into predicted growth, demand and changing requirements on what is expected now and in the future within the luxury industry. Watch the full replay now.
